The word “Zodiac” means “circle of life”, and it seems to date back as far as anyone can remember. It seems that humans have looked to the stars for their answers since the beginning of their existence. The sky leads us to end a day and to begin another, therefore leading us from one cycle into another.

Twelve constellations, called “the Zodiac”, form a circle around the earth. As the earth revolves, a different part of the sky is within our sight, and each month a different one of these 12 constellations can be seen above the horizon.

Most people are already well aware of their astrological signs but, just in case, here is a brief summary.

Aries (March 21-April 20)
Aries is a fire sign that is ruled by Mars. An Aries will have the need for independence and awareness

Taurus (April 21-May 20)
Taurus is an earth sign that is ruled by Venus. A Taurus will have the need to be stable and productive.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
Gemini is an air sign that is ruled by Mercury. A Gemini will have the need to communicate and grow from others.

Cancer (June 21-July 21)
A Cancer is a water sign that is ruled by the Moon. A Cancer will have the need to give and receive security.

Leo (July 22-August 22)
A Leo is a fire sign that is ruled by the Sun. A Leo will have the need for self-expression.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)
A Virgo is an earth sign that is ruled by Mercury. A Virgo will have the need to be organized and efficient.

Libra (September 23-October 22)
A Libra is an air sign that is ruled by Venus. A Libra will have the need to create balance, especially in relationships.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
A Scorpio is a water sign that is ruled by Pluto and Mars. A Scorpio will have the need for deep commitment.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 20)
A Sagittarius is a fire sign that is ruled by Jupiter. A Sagittarius will have the need for knowing and remembrance.

Capricorn (December 21-January 20)
A Capricorn is an earth sign that is ruled by Saturn. A Capricorn will have the need to experience accomplishments.

Aquarius (January 21-February 18)
An Aquarius is an air sign that is ruled by Uranus. An Aquarius will have the need for originality.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)
A Pisces is a water sign that is ruled by Neptune. A Pisces will have the need to feel a constant state of adaptation.

Now, many people look to the Zodiac to see which signs they are most compatible with but, in the throws of day to day life, it isn’t exactly practical to walk up to someone you wish to encounter and give them an astrological quiz. Most people find themselves already in love before they give any thought to compatible signs.
